2025 California Building Code Adoption

On January 1, 2026, the 2025 California Building code will go into effect in the County of Orange. All submittals made from this date forward will be subject to the 2025 Building Codes. To be considered for grandfathering permit applications under 2022 Building codes, applications shall be submitted and plan review fee paid by December 31, 2025. However, due to the high volume of anticipated submittals, permit applications for grandfathering are to be submitted by December 15, 2025 to ensure the applications are deemed complete and plan check fees are paid by the 31st. Otherwise, new submittals shall be updated to comply with the 2025 California Building Code.
