Cow Camp Road project includes the establishment of an alignment, design, and construction of a new Major Arterial Highway between Antonio Parkway and the Foothill Transportation Corridor (FTC) with extension of the roadway to Ortega Highway. This project will traverse the Rancho Mission Viejo (RMV) Planned Community. The right-of-way is being provided by RMV and the project is financed through the Ranch Community Facilities District (RCFD), the South County Roadway Improvement Program (SCRIP) road fee program and other grant funding sources.
The project will be constructed in two segments, Antonio Parkway to the FTC (Cow Camp Road - Segment 1) and the FTC to Ortega Highway (Cow Camp Road - Segment 2). Segment 1 is mostly completed with the remaining Phase 1c bridge over Gobernadora Canyon to be constructed once traffic demand is warranted. A portion of Segment 2 from FTC to approximately 1.25 miles to the east is currently under construction with construction completion anticipated by the Summer of 2022. Construction of the remaining segments may be phased based on funding availability.
